Redknapp Blasts State Of English Football

Queens Park Rangers manager, Harry Redknapp, has blasted the state of English football after the disappointing 1-0 win over Norway.

Redknapp accused the players of not caring about the Three Lions and said he understood why supporters stayed away following a negative crowd record of only 40.181 fans attending the game at Wembley last night.
"Here we go again, a few months after a disastrous World Cup: yet another massive let-down for everyone," he wrote in the Sun.
"It is disappointment after disappointment. Half the players don't give a toss. The fans can't be bothered to watch them.
"Managers of the Premier League clubs take an interest just to see if their players are going to come back injured from international duty.
England had most of the possession but only two shots on target and manager Roy Hodgson had to defend his players after the game.
Redknapp, however, has cast doubts over the prospects of England’s football after he saw the underwhelming victory against what he called ‘the worst Norway team in years’.
"I don't blame the supporters for not being interested in England at the moment. Why should they be?
"We were told this is the start of a new era. Trust me, I hope so, I really do, but I'm not holding my breath because it will only get harder for England with the way things are in club football.
"And what possible value is there in a total non-event against the worst Norway team we have seen for years when the supporters are still sore from the World Cup shambles?''
England next take on Switzerland in their first 2016 European Championship qualifier on Monday.

Driver used rope to kill himself

Gerald Mellin left a note with his funeral wishes, the inquest heard A depressed businessman going through a divorce decapitated himself by tying a rope to a tree and driving away in his open-top car, an inquest has heard. Gerald Mellin, 54, of Neath, showed the rope to his 33-year-old wife two weeks earlier when he had asked her to quit their business and their farmhouse. He cancelled his life insurance and ran up debts because he wanted to leave her "with nothing," the hearing was told. Swansea coroner Phillip Rogers recorded a verdict of suicide. Mr Mellin's widow Mirrielle told the hearing she had won a court order the day before her husband's suicide for an extra £100 a week from him to help with the running of the house.
