Courtois Signs New Five-Year Deal
Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has extended his contract with the club for five seasons.
The 22-year-old has recently replaced Petr Cech as first-choice goalkeeper for the London club after spending three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid.
"I'm very happy with this new deal. It's really nice to have signed this new contract for five years,” he told the club’s official website.
The Belgian, with his future secured at the club will now be focussing on keeping things tidy at the back, after keeping only one clean sheet in his three Premier League games so far.
"My future was already sorted but it's nice to know I'm going to be here for another five years and now I can just concentrate on playing games," he added.
Courtois joined Chelsea in 2011 from Genk in 2011 for an undisclosed fee, before joining Atletico Madrid on loan where he won the Copa Del Rey and La Liga titles.
