Guardiola: Man City Can Win The UCL

Bayern Munich coach, Pepe Guardiola, believes that Manchester City are amongst the teams in this season’s UEFA Champions League that can win the competition.

Jerome Boateng scored the late winner for the German champions against the English champions to secure Bayern's first three points in Group E.

“In the Champions League there are six, seven, eight teams that can win,” he said in a post-match press conference after his team’s 1-0 victory over the English champions.

“It’s not like before where there were two are or three. And Manchester City are one of those teams. Losing tonight doesn’t change that.”

The Spaniard believes that his team was the better team and deserved to win the game, despite a difficult start to the match.

"They played better for the first 20 minutes and we played better for the rest of the game.”

"We deserved this victory. In the second half we played at a very high level.”

"We can't forget against which team we played tonight and I'm happy with the rest because it is the first game in (a busy) two months.”

Bayern Munich are currently in second place in Group E, behind Italian side, Roma, who have a superior goal difference after they beat CSKA Moscow 5-1.
