Spanish La Liga: Sevilla Tie On Points With Barcelona
It was a rather dull Wednesday night in the Spanish La Liga with only eight goals scored across six games that saw Atletico Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Sevilla and Levante pick up wins.
In the most surprising result of the night Barcelona dropped their first points in the league after a goalless draw against Malaga.
Sevilla, on the other hand, went tied on points with Barcelona at the top of the table thanks to a slender 1-0 win over Real Sociedad courtesy of a Gerard Deulofeu goal.
Atletico Madrid moved up to third, also winning by the slimmest of margins after a goal from Joao Miranda saw them down Almeria 1-0.
Rayo Vallecano and Levante picked up their first wins of the league season.
A brace from Leo Baptistao saw Rayo beat Athletic club 2-1 while a single goal from Ruben Garcia saw Levante beat Granada 1-0.
The last game of the evening saw Eibar and Villarreal play out to a 1-1 draw.
There will be two more La Liga games on Thursday evening with Espanyol hosting Getafe and Valencia welcoming Cordoba.
