Italian Serie A Report: Juventus Maintain Winning Start

Arturo Vidal struck twice as Juventus beat Cesena 3-0 to maintain their impressive start to the new Serie A campaign in a match played at the Juventus Stadium on Wednesday night.

The defending Serie A champions, aiming for their fourth consecutive win, were very dominant from the word go as they forced Cesena to defend in the early minutes of the game.

Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri, made a few changes to his team, surprisingly leaving Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba on the bench.

It was a one way traffic within the opening 15 minutes of the match as Juventus continue to create goal scoring chances, but failed to convert them.

Their dominance finally paid off in the 20th minute when they won a penalty which Arturo Vidal puts into the back of the net for the opening goal of the match.

The match headed for the interval with Juventus enjoying the 1-0 lead from a solitary goal scored by Vidal.

The second half started with Juventus still in command of the game, knocking the ball around.

Juventus grabbed the second goal in the 64th minute with Vidal netting his second of the game.

The Chilean international was given far too much space and picked the left bottom corner to put his team into a 2-0 lead.

Alvaro Morata, who replaced Fernando Llorente, in the 71st minute blew a good chance to get onto the score-sheet five minutes after coming in.

The Turin side were in charge of the match in the last ten minutes and netted the third through Stephan Lichtsteiner in the 85th minute, while Giovinco was unlucky not to make it 4-0 three minutes later, as his effort hit the post.
