Paris Saint Germain; Zlatan: I’m The Son Of God

Paris Saint-Germain striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has thanked Ajax Amsterdam fans for welcoming him with a ‘welcome back son of god’ banner.

The Swede striker made his Champions League debut for Ajax 12 years ago and returned to his former side on Wednesday night.

"No, of course it was for me", he told reporters when asked whether the banner was for him.

“It was amazing, fantastic (being back). It's the third time I have come back here with three different teams. I always felt welcome every time. It was here that everything started.

“The ArenA is amazing and I always enjoyed playing here, so it was a happy moment.”

PSG were leading early through an Edinson Cavani goal, but failed to put the game to bed and allowed Ajax to come back into the game.

“We were winning 1-0 and we had a very good opportunity at the beginning of the second half … we missed. They get a goal from a free-kick: 1-1, an away point,” Ibrahimovic added.

“Let's see what happens in the next game. Now PSG have to react and take points from Barcelona."

“We had good opportunities to score and didn't. This is the Champions League – the opportunities you get you need to punish the opponent. We punished them once and they punished us back.”

PSG next welcome FC Barcelona at home on 30 September, while Ajax travel to Apoel Nicosia.
