Ronaldo Training Six Hours A Day For Comeback
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo has been following an intense recovery program to ensure that he is ready to play against Atletico Madrid.
The Portuguese attacker has reportedly been training for six hours every day, in a specific fitness regime in order to recover from the injury problems that have plagued him for the majority of 2014.
"I’ll be ready for the derby,” Ronaldo told AS, when asked about his fitness.
Ronaldo suffered a knock to his back in the Spanish Supercup and has been out of action ever since. He is now in the process of preparing himself for the tough season ahead at Real Madrid by exercising in the swimming pool, doing weight training in the gym, combined with physiotherapy work and by spending time on the pitch.
However, his training program seems to closely resemble that of a player that is doing pre-season training, which Ronaldo missed out on due to the injuries he picked up when playing injured for Portugal in the World Cup.
The idea behind this regime is both to prepare the star for the derby match on Sunday and also to avoid playing the Portuguese on an intermittent basis, which happened last season after he played several games while still carrying knocks.
Ronaldo will be hopeful of returning to full training by tomorrow or Wednesday. Real Madrid will face Atletico on September 14 in the Santiago Bernabeau at 20:00
