Euro 2016 Qualifiers: Sweden Held By Austria, Russia Win Big

Russia got their qualifying campaign off to a flying start after they thrashed Liechtenstein 4-0 in Moscow on Tuesday night.

Two own goals from the visitors and solitary strikes from Dimitri Kombarov and Artem Dzyuba saw the Russians move top of the Group G standings.

Sweden and Austria were forced to share the spoils, as they played out to a 1-1 draw in the qualifying clash at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion.

David Alaba opened the scoring for Austria as early as the seventh minute from the penalty spot, before Erkan Zengin slotted home the equaliser after being teed up by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Slovakia's hope to qualify for the Euro Championships got off to a good start, as they defeated Ukraine 1-0 in Kiev on Tuesday night.

Robert Mak scored the only goal of the game in the 17th minute, with Napoli's Marek Hamsik setting up the midfielder.
