Italian Serie A : Roma Relinquish Top Spot
Roma maintained their 100 percent win record in the Italian Serie A, but relinquished their place at the top of the table to Juventus on Wednesday night.
It was a busy night in the Italian top flight with eight games and 24 goals scored as Roma, Juventus, Internazionale, Sampdoria and Torino all won.
Roma claimed their fourth win in as many matches after goals from Adam Ljajic and Miralem Pjanic handed them a 2-1 win over Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
The win, however, was not enough to see them maintain their place at the top of the table as Juventus beat Cesena 3-0 thanks to a brace from Arturo Vidal and a goal from Stephan Lichtsteiner.
The win was also Juventus’ fourth in a row, but sees them with a better goal difference, hence their place at the top of the table.
Internazionale moved up to third on the table thanks to their second win in the league after goals from Pablo Osvaldo and Hernanes saw them down Atalanta 2-0.
Sampdoria moved up to fourth on the table, also with their second victory after goals from Daniele Gastaldello and Alessio Romagnoli handed them a 2-1 win over Chievo.
Torino claimed their first league win of the season, also with a 2-1 scoreline after beating Cagliari thanks to goals from Kamil Glik and Fabio Quagliarella.
One of the most exciting games of the night was a six goal thriller that saw Napoli and Palermo play out to a 3-3 draw.
Hellas Verona versus Genoa was also very entertaining with four goals as the match ended 2-2.
The dullest game of the evening saw Fiorentina and Sassuolo play to a goalless draw.
