'Torres More Useful Than Balotelli For Milan'

New AC Milan goalkeeper, Diego Lopez, believes Fernando Torres will be more useful for the Rossoneri than Mario Balotelli.

The Spanish shot stopper, who arrived from Real Madrid this summer, spoke about his fellow new recruit, who joined from Chelsea.

"We want to get Milan back to where they belong and for this Torres is going to be more useful than Balotelli," Lopez told ESPN.

"He's a big signing for Milan and he's done great things in his career.

“His job is to score goals. He's a big player - already tried and tested, renowned, quick and strong.”

Lopez then defended his decision to leave Champions League winners Real Madrid for Milan, who will not be playing any European football this season.

"Both are huge clubs, two of the most important in the world," he added.

"As soon as there was the possibility of coming to Milan, I took my decision with the utmost conviction. Milan have a great history, regardless of what has happened in recent years. I'm going to give it all I can to get Milan back where they belong."

Diego Lopez made 52 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid since re-joining the club that he played for as a youngster in 2013.

Driver used rope to kill himself

Gerald Mellin left a note with his funeral wishes, the inquest heard A depressed businessman going through a divorce decapitated himself by tying a rope to a tree and driving away in his open-top car, an inquest has heard. Gerald Mellin, 54, of Neath, showed the rope to his 33-year-old wife two weeks earlier when he had asked her to quit their business and their farmhouse. He cancelled his life insurance and ran up debts because he wanted to leave her "with nothing," the hearing was told. Swansea coroner Phillip Rogers recorded a verdict of suicide. Mr Mellin's widow Mirrielle told the hearing she had won a court order the day before her husband's suicide for an extra £100 a week from him to help with the running of the house.
