Rodgers: Mario Will Be Okay
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Mario Balotelli will be available to make his home debut for Liverpool on Saturday against Aston Villa despite missing practise on Friday.
Balotelli joined Liverpool in the latest transfer window from Seire A side AC Milan for a fee of £16 million and is set to play a key role in the Reds attack this season.
The Italian missed practise on Friday with an illness, but Rodgers has since confirmed his availability for their English Premier League match at Anfield on Saturday.
“Mario has had a bit of a bug that we wanted to make sure he didn't spread around the group,” said Rodgers.
“But he'll be okay for Saturday.
“I think he has felt the warmth of the club since he's been here and I'm sure he will look forward to playing at Anfield.”
Balotelli played for 61 minutes on his Liverpool debut shortly before the international break, as they earned a 3-0 win away to Tottenham on August 31.
Saturday’s match against Villa will be his first at home.
