Juve: Vidal Was Never On The Market

Juventus Turin coach, Massimiliano Allegri, has revealed Manchester United target, Arturo Vidal, was never on the market this summer.

Allegri replaced Antonio Conte during the off-season and admitted he was always confident to keep Vidal in Italy.
"Vidal? He was never on the market. The club told me from the start that he would stay," he told Sky Italia.
Juventus’ biggest buy was Real Madrid starlet Alvaro Morata for £16 million, while the club kept their midfield stars, Vidal and Paul Pogba, and Allegri admitted he was happy with the club's summer business despite reportedly missing out on several big-name targets.
"I'm happy with the business the club did," he added.
"The aim was to carry out targeted operations, not to buy just for the sake of buying. Ours was an intelligent transfer market.
"We would have only done something more if we had found a player that would have really lifted the level of the squad."
Juventus won three consecutive Seria A titles under Antonio Conte and started with a 1-0 victory at Chievo into the new season.

Driver used rope to kill himself

Gerald Mellin left a note with his funeral wishes, the inquest heard A depressed businessman going through a divorce decapitated himself by tying a rope to a tree and driving away in his open-top car, an inquest has heard. Gerald Mellin, 54, of Neath, showed the rope to his 33-year-old wife two weeks earlier when he had asked her to quit their business and their farmhouse. He cancelled his life insurance and ran up debts because he wanted to leave her "with nothing," the hearing was told. Swansea coroner Phillip Rogers recorded a verdict of suicide. Mr Mellin's widow Mirrielle told the hearing she had won a court order the day before her husband's suicide for an extra £100 a week from him to help with the running of the house.
