International: Muller Gives Germany Winning Start

A brace from Thomas Muller helped Germany defeat Scotland 2-1 in their 2016 European Championship qualifier at Signal-Iduna Park.
The World Champions were looking to bounce back from their woeful defeat to Argentina during the week, as their focus shifted to Euro qualifiers.
Germany came close to opening the scoring as early as the sixth minute, as Andre Schurrle cut in from the left before curling one just wide of the target.
Two minutes later and Thomas Muller squandered a great chance to give the home side the lead, as he blasted wide of the target from 12-yards out.
However, the World Champions eventually took the lead in the 18th minute, as Muller rose highest to head home Sebastian Rudy's cross.
Scotland's only chance of the half came before the halftime break, as Ikechi Anya's  strike from distance sailed inches wide of the upright.
Steven Naismith had a good chance to level matters for the Scottish in the 55th minute, as he dragged a left-footed effort wide of the mark, after being left in acres of space.
The visitors managed to level matters in the 66th minute, as Steven Fletcher played in Anya Ikechi, who showed great composure to slot past Manuel Neuer.
However, four minutes later, the Germans were in the lead again, thanks to a half volley from Muller, his second of the game.
Joechim Low's men managed to see out the rest of match without any scares, while Scotland ended the game with 10 men after Charles Mulgrew was shown his second yellow of the game.
