Iniesta Ruled Out Of Spain Matches
Barcelona midfielder, Andres Iniesta will not be playing a part in Spain’s team to play France and Macedonia over the international break due to a knee injury.
Iniesta missed Barcelona’s clash with Villarreal due to the same injury and Vicente Del Bosque will have to make do without the man that scored the winning goal in Spain’s 2010 World Cup final victory.
Despite snubbing Fernando Torres and Juan Mata, Del Bosque has opted not to call up a replacement for Iniesta and will stick to the remaining 22 players that were named in his original squad.
Real Madrid midfielder, Isco, is likely to take over Iniesta’s role in a new look Spanish team that will be looking to rebuild after a disastrous World Cup in Brazil.
Spain will take on France in an international friendly match on Thursday at 20:00 and Macedonia in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Monday at 20:45.
