Ejide Set To Replace Enyeama In Afcon Qualifiers

Vincent Enyeama has pulled out of Super Eagles' upcoming matches against Congo Brazzaville and South Africa due to family issues.
According to the head coach of the team, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi; he has granted team skipper Enyeama leave of absence from the two games against Congo Brazzaville and South Africa because of pressing family issues.
There may be reasons for die hard supporters of the team to smile, as former Étoile Sportive du Sahel’s safest pair of hands, Austin Ejide is set to arrive at the Calabar camp on Tuesday.
Ejide, 30 is expected to arrive the Super Eagles Transcorp Hotel camp in Calabar on Tuesday.
The Hapoel Be'er Sheva goalie arrived in Abuja, on Sunday night, but could not move to Calabar as he had to visit the Nigeria immigration office in the Federal Capital Territory to sort out some travel document issues.
“Austin arrived in Nigeria Sunday evening through Abuja. He had to go to the passport office because his passport was already filled up so he had to get another one,” his agent Edmund Ndukanma said.
“That was why he could not move to Calabar immediately. Having done that, he will be in Calabar Tuesday morning, flight booking has been made already.”
The ex-Gabros International star made his debut for Nigeria against Namibia on 16 June 2001.
He has been named in three FIFA World Cup squads; 2002 in Japan and South Korea, 2010 in South Africa, and 2014 in Brazil.
El Kanemi Warrior’s goalkeeper David Obiazor has also been handed a late call up as a replacement for Enyeama.
