Manchester United's record signing Angel di Maria is set to make his debut live on BT Sport this weekend as Louis van Gaal's side travel to promoted Burnley looking to put their midweek cup humilation behind them.

It’s been a week of ups and downs for the Red Devils, with their signing of Argentine star Di Maria from Real Madrid for a British record transfer fee of £59.7m going through just ahead of an embarrassing 4-0 thrashing at the hands of League One MK Dons in the second round of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.
That upset struck another blow in what has been a rocky start to Van Gaal's reign at Old Trafford, coming on the back of defeat at home to Swansea and a draw at Sunderland in the club’s opening two games of the Premier League season.

We cannot expect after two days' training sessions that he is the miracle that I already read (about)."

United fans will be hoping Di Maria can help to ignite the club’s season, with the talented winger expected to be included in Van Gaal's matchday squad, but the manager has warned not to expect instant miracles from the new signing.
He said: "For me it is also important that he is a team player and that is what I am liking in Di Maria - not only class, and that he can accelerate the game for us, but that he can also play in the interests of the team.
"That is why we have chosen this player and I hope he shall give us good results, but we cannot expect after two days' training sessions that he is the miracle that I already read (about).
"You have to work for the miracle and he knows that."

Burnley, meanwhile, have found life back in the top-flight tough so far after promotion from the Championship last season, currently sitting second-bottom of the fledgling table following back-to-back defeats to Chelsea and Swansea.
Like United, they were ousted from the league cup in midweek, with a 1-0 defeat to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday sealing their exit.
Clarets manager Sean Dyche will be looking to take inspiration from the Dons as his side attempt to inflict more woe on Van Gaal’s side in front of the BT Sport cameras, but knows even a wounded United side is a dangerous prospect.

We know we’re walking into almost every game as underdogs."
Sean Dyche
Dyche told Burnley's official website: “I don’t think it could get much bigger than Manchester United coming to Turf Moor.
“Nobody is naïve to the challenge here and we know we’re walking into almost every game as underdogs.
“But we all want it and we’re thirsty for it. We all wanted it last year and we all want it now, so the challenge is to learn quickly, adjust and go hard as we always do.
“We also know the challenge that is in front of us in the Premier League in general, never more so than when the big guns come to town.”
